NEW YORK, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters recently renewed its commitment to the International Fiscal Association (IFA) through its sponsorship and participation at the 2009 IFA Congress. Thomson Reuters was the only company to sponsor the Congress at the highest level - Platinum contribution.
"With more than 1,300 delegates from 66 countries attending the Congress, it's a wonderful venue to present our tax-related information, software, and service solutions for countries across the globe," said Tom Krebs, vice president of Industry Relations, Tax & Accounting, Thomson Reuters.
Tax practitioners, corporate tax executives, university academics, and government officials attended this year's annual IFA Congress, held in Vancouver, British Columbia. The main topics for discussion were: is there a permanent establishment, and foreign exchange issues in international taxation.
IFA's mission is to study and advance international and comparative law pertaining to public finance -- specifically international and comparative fiscal law and the financial and economic aspects of taxation. The association achieves its objectives through its annual Congresses, publications, and research. "We're proud to support this pre-eminent international tax association in its efforts to develop and advance global tax policy," added Krebs.
Along with its monetary sponsorship, Thomson Reuters also participated in the Congress sessions and exhibited several of its international products. Information products included Checkpoint(R) and Carswell(R) brands, and software products included Paisley Enterprise GRC(R) and ONESOURCE(TM) brands.
