Thomson Prometric and CBNC Join to Certify Nuclear Cardiologists
BALTIMORE, June 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Thomson Prometric, the global leader in technology-enabled testing and assessment services and part of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC), and the Certification Board for Nuclear Cardiology (CBNC), today announced their 3.5 year agreement for delivery of the CBNC certification exam through the Thomson Prometric testing center network worldwide. Physicians who take and pass the CBNC exam are certified in the practice of Nuclear Cardiology.
The CBNC exam integrates multimedia technology such as images and video clips of beating hearts and rotating torsos, mirroring what nuclear cardiologists find in real world practice. Test takers are asked to analyze these images and draw conclusions. The test takers are then scored on their accuracy. This type of performance-based testing offers a greater interpretive skill assessment and a more true-to-practice question set.

About The Certification Board for Nuclear Cardiology
The Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology (CBNC) was founded in 1996. The CBNC is a not-for-profit corporation established to develop and administer practice-related examinations in the field of Nuclear Cardiology and to award certification to those physicians who successfully complete the CBNC examination process. CBNC is a fully autonomous entity, independent of any other association, society or academy. This independence allows the CBNC to maintain integrity concerning policy matters related to certification. CBNC works with experts in the field of nuclear cardiology, both from within the Board and externally in the development of the examination in nuclear cardiology.
