Thomson Announces Quarterly Dividend (All amounts are in U.S. dollars)

STAMFORD, Conn., July 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Board of Directors of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC) declared a quarterly dividend on the company's common stock of $0.20 per share. The dividend is payable on September 15, 2005 to common shareholders of record as of August 18, 2005. On an annualized basis, the dividend rate is $0.80 per share.
