Reuters Group PLC - Transaction in Own Shares

Reuters Group plc announces that on 7 February 2008 it purchased for cancellation 800,000 of its ordinary shares from JP Morgan Cazenove Limited at a price of 597.9617p per share.

Following the above purchase the total number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding 135,860,000 shares held as treasury shares) is 1,242,325,463.
